Biostatistics refers to application of statistical concepts to the associated fields of biology like medicine, clinical sciences, life sciences, pharma, agriculture and forestry. The uses of biostatistics include designing experiments, collection of data, analyzing data and generating summary reports, and data interpretation to help draw conclusions. As an example, in clinical industry, Biostatistics is employed to analyze and interpret data collected from clinical trials to test the efficacy and safety of novel medicines or diagnosis/treatment methods.
