The top journals in telecommunications, largely focus on research areas like wireless networks, remote sensing and serial communication. The latest and the most rapidly advancing field of telecommunications is wireless networks. From portable laptops to mobile phones and other latest devices, wireless communication due to the benefit of portability has gained momentum from a few decades. Wireless networks is the implementation of a network to communicate either by electrical signals, electromagnetic waves, circuit switching, packet switching or wave switching without the use of phhysical cables. Some examples of wireless networks are: Wi-Fi networks, cell phone networks and the internet. A typical telecommunication network is made up of terminals, telecommunications processors, telecommunications channels, computers and telecommunications control software. Each point of receiving or sending messages is called a terminal. Terminals together form a terminal node. Any message that is sent or received is required to pass through its terminal node. The messgaes pass through channels called telecommunications channel to reach a particular node. Three or more terminal channels transmit information to a node. Every network has a defined structure consisting of three planes: control plane, data plane/ user plane and management plane. The layouts of network are different types: bus network, star network, ring network, mesh network, fully connected network and tree network.
