Blood transfusion is the process of transferring blood products from one person to another person intravenously. Blood safety presents a serious challenge. Although transfusion of human blood can be lifesaving, it is not without risks. Transfusion-transmitted infections (TTI) can be transmitted through blood transfusions. Blood transfusions are necessary in cardiac surgery; several studies found that blood transfusions had also deleterious effects. The main goal of blood transfusions is to increase the oxygen delivery to tissues and oxygen utilization by cells. Immunomodulatory effect of blood transfusions, presumed to result from allogeneic leukocytes is referred to as transfusion-related immunomodulation. Allogeneic blood transfusion is the standard approach to increase haemoglobin (Hb) concentration. The aim of the journal is to become the primary source of high quality research in the universe. Journal of Blood Disorders & transfusion focus on specific discipline of contributing resourceful and impactful platform research where research joins together with technology.
