Proteinuria or albuminuria or urine albumin is a condition in which urine shows the presence of an abnormal amount of protein. This condition is often a sign of kidney disease. Kidneys with damaged filters may let proteins such as albumin leak from the blood into the urine. This condition does not normally exhibit symptoms but can be detected by routine urinalysis.
