Testosterone is a steroid hormone secreted in large amounts by the testicles of males and the ovaries of females. Adrenal glands also secrete testosterone in small amounts. It is the major male sex hormone which plays a key role in the development of testis and prostate organs. Secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle, bone mass, and body hair growth are promoted through the release of testosterone. It is also essential in the prevention of osteoporosis.Scholarly peer review is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field, before a paper describing this work is published in a journal. The work may be accepted, considered acceptable with revisions, or rejected.
