The binding interactions between silica (SiO2), titania (TiO2) or polymeric nanoparticles with hydroxypropyl methacrylate (HPMA) were investigated for enhancing the ultraviolet (UV) detection sensitivity of these nanoparticles in capillary electrophoresis (CE) analysis. HPMA interacted with colloidal SiO2 nanoparticles, producing a larger CE-UV peak at a slightly shorter migration time.
