Protease constitute one of the primary targets in drug discovery. Many new ECP inhibitors are currently under clinical investigation and a significant increase in new therapies based on protease inhibition. Protease have evolved multiple times, and different classes of protease can perform same reactions by different catalytic mechanism. Protease can be found in animals, plants, bacteria, archea and viruses. Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
