Streptomyces is the largest genus of Actinobacteria and the type genus of the family Streptomycetaceae. Streptomyces is a gram positive. Found mostly in soil and decaying vegetation. They produce two ââ¬âthirds of the clinically useful antibiotics of natural origin.
