Hydroxyapatite (HA, Ca10 (PO4)6(OH)2), Zirconia (ZrO2) and Alumina (Al2O3) are known as important implant materials. HA has often been considered as a candidate for use in load -bearing applications due to bonds and promotes the new bone formation necessary for implant osseointegration to bone directly. However, its poor mechanical properties have limited its application to load-bearing parts.
