Missile defense is a system, weapon, or technology involved in the detection, tracking, interception, and destruction of attacking missiles. Missile defense can also be written as weaponry for warships providing a defense system. Originally conceived as a defence against nuclear-armed ICBMs, its application has broadened to include shorter-ranged non-nuclear tactical and theater missiles. A journal is a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although some of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across a wide range of scientific fields.
