The establishment of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL) was a step with an objective of excellence and advancement in the field of hepatology and now it stands in Worlds leading associations based on the investigation and treatment of Liver diseases. Since its inception in 1978, The Association is dedicated to its goal towards the advancement of the science and practice of Hepatology and provides an encouragement for the practice of medicine in Liver diseases and coordinating scientific studies between various scientists and physicians throughout the region. Particularly, it is the largest scientific body in Asia Pacific region which upholding the standards and profession and creating an enhancement in the treatment methods of Liver patients The Association provides an excellent opportunity or share or exchange the experiences, research mainly from the view of Asia Pacific Regions. The registered office of the Association is situated in Singapore and the sitting president of APASL is Dr. Jinlin Hou from Guangzhou. The Association organize an event every year on remarkable progress in the Liver diseases and aimed to promote the knowledge about the field of hepatology by providing the latest scientific and evidence based result that will be applied in everyday clinical practices. These elements play an essential role for the better development of hepatology. All the association members are dedicated towards hepatology its research, practices and care. The official journal of association was launched in 2007 which publish the abstracts of annual meetings with original and review articles. The impact factor of the journal is 2.963 in the year 2010. The upcoming 26th meeting of APASL is going to be held in shanghai in the month of February 2017.
