Association of biochemistry

American Society for Biochemistry is an educational and non-profit organization with over 15,000 members. Established in 1906,  and it is based in Rockville, Maryland. Its mission is to advance the science molecular biology of  and biochemistry by publishing  its educational journals.the Journal of Molecular, Biological, Cellular Proteomics & Chemistry, and Journal of Lipid Research. The organization advocacy for funding of basic research and education of scientific meetings, support of science education, and promotes the diversity of individuals entering the scientific workforce. Other organizations like the International Union of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology etc. are international nongovernmental organisations which concerned with biochemistry along with molecular biology. Formed in 1955 as International Union of Biochemistry has presently few member countries as of 2008 and it organizes a Congress of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Chemistry, and sponsors more frequent conferences, symposia, educational activities and lectures. This is a self participation scheme and all laboratories are interested to participate at a minimum charge. Organizers of this send one vial of sample as quality controll test through postal each month to participants. The laboratories who are the participants can analyse the difference between the accompanying report from and then again report back their result to Vellore within a given time.
