The Austrian Ophthalmological Society - representing ophthalmologists Austria - was founded in 1904 and is the competent partner for science, research and practice. In 1904, Ophthalmological Society in Vienna (Ophthalmological Society) was established. On 22 June, 1954 in a ceremony commemorating its 50 years of existence Austrian Ophthalmologic Society was found. From 14 to 15 May, 1955 the first meeting of the Austrian Society of Ophthalmology will be held in Vienna which was presided by the President Professor Dr. Arnold Pillat. The society should be able to represent the interests of Austrian as well as International ophthalmologists. The Austrian Ophthalmological Society - representing ophthalmologists of Austria - is the competent partner for science, research and practice. The purpose of this society is the holding of scientific meetings and promoting ophthalmic research.
