Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The establishment in January 1887 established the 'Amsterdamsche Gynaecological Society', chaired by the professor Van der Mey. Then prof. Treub Leiden as a guest at the meeting in November of the same year the association also proposed to open for colleagues from the rest of the country was his proposal accepted by the eight participants unanimously & thus was on November 16, 1887 the 'Nederlandsche gynaecological Society was born. 

From a small group of enthusiastic pioneers in 1887, is the current Dutch Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology becomes a powerful professional organization, with 902 working members, with about fifty working groups & committees, collected in eight domes & pillars. There is a desk with a director & seven permanent employees. The annual membership fee was three guilders in 1887 (converted purchasing power around 35 euros) 741 euros in 2012, the budget for 2012 is around 1.2 million. Stated may be that the association is in its 125th anniversary in the prime of her life & has every reason to look to the future with confidence.
