The Entomological Society of Korea contributes to the development of Entomology through study of related fields and the insects and the main objective of this society is to promote fellowship among its members. The founding members of the society are Gyusan Chang Hwan Kim, Ph.D, Gwanjung Bok Sung Cho, Ph.D. and Wun Ha Bak, Ph.D and it was established at Korye University, Seoul campus, Seoul, South Korea. The society is active in scholarship activities to have regular research forums in in a year and during this hosting the society conducts special seminars inviting national and international scholars and also it organizes symposiums inviting speakers from Korea and other nations. They use to conduct spring events in summer schedule during early stages of society establishment. The society published the Entomological Society of Korea Journal, General Entomology, Korea Insect Names and Insect Terminology in collaboration with Applied Entomological Society of Korea. They are planning to publish 30 years of The Entomological Society of Korea and the revised edition of Korea Insect Names. They also published newsletters to promote fellowship among the members and to share information. The society frequently held outdoor collection and a course for insect and nature education for the public. The members of the society are divided into 5 categories and they include the regular members who majored in entomology or studied in the field, those who are currently studying Entomology or related fields in undergraduate or graduate schools receive student memberships, Organizations such as university libraries, foreigners and the society consists of nearly 500 members who have registered and the office of the society is located inside Korye University Annex Korea Insect Research Centre.
