Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA) was formed in 1887 with the purpose of promoting, advancing, and improving the professional interest of brew and malt house production and technical personnel. It publishes the Technical Quarterly, a technical journal. Today, MBAA is a dynamic, global community working to advance the brewing, fermentation, and allied industries by advocating the exchange of knowledge; creating, assembling, interpreting, and disseminating credible and beneficial information; developing world-class education offerings; and providing valuable personal and professional development opportunities. MBAA is a non-profit organization with more than 3,000 members in 23 different districts from more than 55 countries throughout the world. The mission of MBAA is to Leverage the collective resources of the brewing community to continually improve the processes and products of our membership by being the recognized leader in brewing education and technical information. The MBAA is a professional organization with a Code of Professional Conduct which encompasses the values important to the profession and expresses the professions responsibilities. The MBAA’s code of professional conduct is intended to guide members in the performance of their professional responsibilities to perform all professional responsibilities with the highest sense of integrity, and maintain objective and freedom from conflicts of interest; to improve their competence and the quality of services and discharge all professional responsibilities to the best of their ability. In 2012 the Master Brewers Association of the America's celebrated their 125th Anniversary. MBAA offers respected and affordable educational and training opportunities to the brewing industry that  feature  practical, hands-on information that can be applied immediately. MBAA Brewery Award of Excellence promotes the profession of brewing and to be the source for brewers to network and improve their craft. Through this award program MBAA will be able to promote significant contributions breweries make to better our industry, community, and environment. The MBAA Brewery Award of Excellence will recognize outstanding achievements by a single brewery in the area of community involvement.
