The Ohio Cancer Registrars Association (OCRA) in Ohio is a non-income professional association which provides leadership committed to excellence in the control of most cancers information through schooling, conversation and membership participation. The efforts to establish such a country wide agency representing cancer registry specialists began within the spring of 1972 in San Francisco, CA, at a -week seminar of cancer registrars. Seven of the attendants fashioned an ad-hoc committee to take a look at the want for, and feasibility of, a country wide agency. The committee contributors were from extraordinary geographical regions of the United States of America. The assembly was scheduled for May 13-14, 1974, in Dallas. The OCRA focuses on the role played by cancer registrars in improving the health condition of public.
