Pan American Association of Anatomy

The Pan American Association of Anatomy was initiated by Dr. Liberato L. J. DiDio in the year 1961 during the 74th congress of the American Association of Anatomy, Chicago. The official establishment of the Pan American Association of Anatomy was in Mexico City in the year 1966 when the III National Congress of the Mexican Society of Anatomy met with the Pan American Congress of Anatomy. During this meeting, it was under the presidency of Dr. Fernando Quiroz Pavia. After that meeting, both congresses were subsequently met every two to four years. The main objective of the Pan American Association of Anatomy is to steam up the development and promotion of Morphological Sciences in the American land. It can be done by facilitating scientific exchange and friendship among members of other anatomy/anatomists societies. The PAAA is supported by several journals. They are: the International Journal of Morphology and the Brazilian Journal of Morphology Sciences. The PAAA also have several representatives in different countries and they are also member of the International Federation Associations of Anatomists (IFAA). The current Board of Directors for Pan American Association of Anatomy is Dr. Manuel Arteaga Martínez from México. The upcoming congress of Pan American Association of Anatomy (PAAA) will be scheduled in the month of September, 2016 in Ica, Peru.
