The Society of Canadian Ornithologists is an ornithological non-benefit association serving Canada's ornithological group. It was established in 1983, and is an individual from the Ornithological Council.
The objectives of the Society are to energize and bolster research towards the comprehension and preservation of Canadian fowls, serve as an expert society for both novice and expert Canadian ornithologists, speak to Canadian ornithologists inside expert ornithological social orders, distribute data about Canadian winged creatures, and perceive brilliance in exploration, protection and mentorship in the Canadian ornithological group.
The Society delivers the diary Avian Conservation and Ecology - Ecologie et Conservation des Oiseaux (ACE-ECO), which is distributed together with Bird Studies Canada, and in addition a pamphlet, Picoides. It makes two yearly honors, the Doris Huestis Speirs Award, which is given for exceptional lifetime commitments to Canadian ornithology, and the Jamie Smith Memorial Mentoring Award
