Spanish Association of Dietitians & Nutritionists

As the international voice of the profession, we advance the dietetics profession in several important ways. The Foundation receives this name in recognition to their work developed in defending the Dietitian/Nutritionist profession and of the Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the Spanish Association of Dieticians/Nutritionists (AEDN), created in 1988. After 25 years defending the profession of the Dietitian/Nutritionist in Spain, the General Assembly of the AEDN celebrated on October 8th 2011 in Valladolid (Spain), agreed to create two new institutions. On one side, the General Board of Dietitians/Nutritionists in Spain, whose purpose is be the only representative for this profession in Spain, safeguard the interests of the of the Dieticians/Nutritionists and protect citizens' health in nutrition, dietetics and foods matters.

Foundation shall seek to serve and direct their activities to the largest possible sector of the population, mainly those directed activities:

• To the best professional qualifications of dietitians, nutritionists through lifelong learning, organization of events, conferences and scientific journals, as well as the provision of tools necessary for the exercise of their profession.
• A food education of the population through the development of educational materials, organizing events or projects population intervention research studies that seek an improvement in the power of citizens in situations of health and illness throughout all The stages of life
