Stearman Restorers Association founded in 1966, renamed in March 12, 2014 - Rare Aircraft, Ltd., Faribault, Minnesota, has acquired the entire Stearman restoration operations of Air Repair, Inc., Cleveland, Mississippi, according to Air Repair owner Pete Jones. Air Repair, which holds the type certificates on the W670 engines transferred from Teledyne Continental Motors of Mobile, Alabama, and the Jacobs R755 engine will continue to supply all engines and propellers for the airplanes as well as all parts and accessories for both powerplants. Rare Aircraft was founded in 1991 dedicated to the restoration of antique aircraft. "The team is pleased to expand its' services to carry on the Air Repair tradition of Stearman restoration, support, and services," said Ben Redman, one of the owners. "Having worked with Air Repair for many years as our preferred engine resource on our restorations has made for a very positive transition. We look forward to continuing to provide the finest Stearman restorations available, fitted with engines from Air Repair, Inc."
