The Taiwan Society for the Study of Hypertension was established in Athens. It is formed by the Hypertension Research Clinic is the First Department of Propaedeutic Medicine of the University of Athens and succeeded the Greek Hypertension Study Group. It included the hypertension specialists from the Universities of Athens and Thessaloniki and Greek members of the International Society of Hypertension.
The main task of this afresh society was academic. it was the first international conference on hypertension and it congregated a great number of specialists from Europe, North America and Australia.
Since 1988, every year the Taiwan Society for the Study of Hypertension organizes a day-long symposium, at the Annual Panhellenic Medical Congress held in May in Athens, on numerous up-to-date topics of hypertension. it also arranges annual courses for fascinated physicians.
