The Hydrographic Society of America (THSOA) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting education in hydrography, inshore surveying, inland waters surveying, offshore surveying, positioning and mapping/charting, including related earth sciences. In 2012, the Board of Trustees of The Hydrographic Society of America instituted the Hydrographer Hall of Fame (HOF). The purpose of the HOF is to honor hydrographers who have made significant advances in the science of hydrographic surveying, who have had distinguished surveying careers, who have made contributions in the education of hydrographers and who have provided exemplary service to the society. THSOA, with the assistance of NOAA, is sponsoring the 43rd University of New Brunswick Shallow Water Multi-beam Course. The course, scheduled to be held from 8th to 13th January 2007 in Norfolk, Virginia, costs US$3000. Current members of THSOA and the Canadian Hydrographic Association (CHA) receive a US$200 discount. There are still several open slots.
