Different prophylactic measures have been carried out to reduce the number of patients with this complication, including preoperative lash trimming and skin preparation, perioperative topical antibiotics use, subconjunctival antibiotics injection, and antibiotics use in irrigating solutions. giving intracameral cefuroxime at the time of cataract surgery significantly reduced the rate of postoperative endophthalmitis.
