The mission of The Electrochemical Society is to propel hypothesis and practice at the bleeding edge of electrochemical and strong state science and innovation, and unified subjects. Richards started the Electrochemical Society. Its membership consists of more than 8000 scientists and engineers in over 70 countries worldwide who have individual membership, as well as about 100 corporations and laboratories that hold corporate membership.
