Royal Society for Public Health is a disciplinary, independent charity dedicated to the improvement of the wellbeing and public’s health. We help inform rules and practice, working to educate, empower and support communities and individuals to live healthily.  Previously known as the Sanitary Institute (1876-1904) and the Royal Sanitary Institute (1904–55), royal society for public health was created during a period of great change within the areas of public health provision. The Royal Society of Health, also known as the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health, was established in 1876, London, United Kingdom. Following the landmark Public Health Act of 1875 RSPH has membership of over 6,000 public health professionals encompassing a wide range of sectors and roles and food safety trainers. We work closely with our members, and implement a  range of policy and projects to educate and empower individuals, effect change and celebrate excellence.Our policy work covers key areas in public health and.
