Sri Sai University (SSU) is an engineering and professional university located in Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. It was established by an Indian spiritual leader, Sri Sathya Sai Baba in the year 2010. Sri Sai University is established with the objective for professional and technical value-based education as State Private University. By all means Sri Sai University will open a new vista of development of Himachal Pradesh, in general, and Kangra district in particular. The main objective if university is to provide for instruction and training in such branches of learning as it may deem fit, to provide for research and for the advancement of and dissemination of knowledge, to undertake extra mural studies, extension programs and other activities to contribute to development of the society, to start vocational courses for the economically backwards/ residents of rural areas, to create opportunities for women empowerment, to start community centers for the upliftment of the needy. University is 2 km from Palampur and on narrow-gauge line between Pathankot and Joginder Nagar. The main bus station is located 1 km south of the main Bazaar. There is frequent bus service from Palampur to Dharamshala, Mandi, and Pathankot. Sri Sai turst has established 12 institutions and schools in Amritsar, Pathankot and Palampur. Sri Sai University is currently offering following courses - B.Tech, M.TECH, Master of Computer Applications, Bachelor of Computer Application, Master of Business Administration, M.SC and B.SC in Chemistry and Physics. The University offers admission in different programmes through entrance examinations and as per norms by government of India and UGC. The University has established a full-fledged Training & Placement Cell headed by Director (Training & Placement) having adequate Industry & Corporate experience. During the last year 17 Companies visited our University campus and conducted the placement drives. Our students attended the placement drive at SSGI Badhani and Manawala Campus in 10 companies. In all 53 MBA and BBA, 22 MCA & BCA and 30 B. Tech students were shortlisted / placed in these companies during the year. University has entered into Memorandums of Understanding to facilitate our Training and Placement activities, with 12 Companies like M/S. Rohit Industries Baddi, M/S. Dev Surgrical, M/S Sai Preet Printers and stationers, M/S. Roots and Flowers, M/S. Shivalik Energy Pvt. Ltd. M/S. AB Sood, M/S. Indian Cafe, M/S. Krati Constructions, M/S. Prem Bus Service, M/S ELvek Lab, M/S. JF Innovations. It has 25700 passed graduates 725 qualified staff and 47 courses published till date in all over the 27 states. All the Colleges have well established Labs with the latest equipment required for the various programmes.
