University of La Laguna is abbreviated as ULL. It is founded in 1792. It is located in San Cristobal de La Laguna, on the island of Tenerife in Spain. It is termed as the First Spanish University in scientific collaboration in the Leiden Ranking given by the Leiden University in Netherlands. It is the Oldest University in the Canary Islands. It is one of the leading public higher education institutions in Spain. University of La Laguna was declared as the world heritage site by UNESCO in 1999. In 2015 it was recognised as one of the top 500 universities in the world by the Institute of Education in Shanghai (China) in which it is one of the two Canarian public universities to be entered in that ranking. In world university ranking it stood at 569. The national rank of University of La Laguna is 17. According to the survey by the Everis foundation in 2016 University of La Laguna was named as the second best university in Spain in humanities. University of La Laguna has six campuses central campus, Ancheita Campus, Campus of Ofra, Campus of Santa cruz, South campus. Headquarters of General foundation of ULL is located in the Central campus. Central campus also contains School of Doctorate and Postgraduate studies, Sports Centre, San Fernando and Sancta Maria high schools. It is the central building of ULL. Ancheita campus is located next to one of the roundabouts of entrance to the city San San Cristobal de La Laguna. It contains Pharmacy section, Agricultural engineering section and headquarters of General Support Service for Research (SEGAI). Campus of Guajara is the largest in the extension of entire ULL. It contains Faculty of Political, Social and Communication Sciences: Political and Social Sciences and Information Sciences, Law School, General Classroom, General library and humanities etc. Campus of Ofra is located in the surroundings of University Hospital of Canary Islands. It contains sections sections of Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy. Campus of Santa cruz contains Naval Section, Machines and Naval Radioelectronics of the Higher Polytechnic School of Engineering, Tenerife Tourism School, Seat of the Social Council of the ULL. University of La Laguna contains 25, 000 people including students, faculty and administrative and service personnel. There are 17,813 enrolled students in degrees of Degree and 2918 in degrees in extinction. Students and staff ratio is 14.6. It contains 6% international students. Female to male ratio is 58:42. It contains 45 Degrees, 52 Doctorate programs, 25 own diplomas. The research in the ULL can be carried out individually and in research groups.
