The University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga (UAHS) is situated in the state of Karnataka, Indi. It was established under the Karnataka Act no. 38 of 2012. It is the first integrated university in the state of Karnataka, which offers both agricultural and horticultural sciences under its purview. A new University as The new University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga, came into independent existence in the year 2013 with Dr. P. M. Salimath serving as the Special Officer, exercising the full pledged powers of the Vice-Chancellor. The University was created by separating seven districts from the jurisdictional area of University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and including all the institutes that falls under the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot. The University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shimoga affiliates Agriculture College in Shimoga, Horticultural College in Mudigere, Horticulural College in Hiriyur, Forestry College in Ponnampet, Agribultural Diploma Institute, Brahmavar and Agricultural Diploma Institute at Kahalagere. The University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences offers degree programs in the disciplines of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry. The University offers Ph.D. programs in five disciplines, Master’s degree in 14 disciplines with six in Agriculture, College of Agriculture Shivamogga, six in Horticulture, Horticultural College, Mudigere and two in Forestry, Forestry College, Ponnampet. The University is also offering two-year Diploma in Agriculture course. There are about 18 members in the academic council of University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, with Vice Chancellor holding the highest position.The University has released a large number of scientific information through publications in the communications center at the University of farmers, staff and citizens with the building of the university. Research, extension, education and communication center for the administration of the University and published in the publications for the general masses. The University has initiated magazine launch for the sake of centre students, farmers, and citizens to share agricultural knowledge. One of the most popular research announcements was Masapatrikeyannu vibrations publishing prasaranegagi seed farming knowledge. This is a major announcement of the farmer community. Dr. M.
