As per available reports about 100 journals, 162 Conferences, 30 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to finite Element and about 366282 articles are being published on the current trends in finite Element. In terms of research annually, USA, India, Japan, Brazil and Canada are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to finite Element are being carried out. As reported in “Fundamental Solution Based Finite Element Method” article, a new type of hybrid finite element method with fundamental solutions as internal interpolation functions, named as HFS-FEM, is recently developed based on the framework of Hybrid Trefftzfinite element method (HT-FEM) and the idea of the Method of Fundamental Solution (MFS). In this method, two independent assumed fields (intra-element filed and auxiliary frame field) are employed and the domain integrals in the variational functional can be directly converted to boundary integrals without any appreciable increase in computational effort as in HT-FEM. Journal of Applied Mechanical Engineering is an academic journal – hosted by OMICS International – a pioneer in open access publishing–and is listed among the top 10 journals in finite Element.
