Petrology

As per available reports about 46 journals, 13 Conferences,5 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to petroleum and about 234 articles are being published on the current trends in petrology. Petroleum is a naturally occurring, yellow-to-black liquid found beneath the surface of the earth, commonly refined into various types of fuels. It contains hydrocarbons of various molecular weights and other liquid organic compounds. It covers both naturally occurring unprocessed crude oil and petroleum products that are made up of refined crude oil. It’s a fossil fuel, formed when large quantities of dead organisms are buried underneath sedimentary rocks and subjected to intense heat and pressure. Petrology is a field that studies the formation and characteristics of petroleum.
