Solar Wind

The solar wind is magnetized plasma of ions and electrons which flows outward from the Sun. The solar wind flows outward supersonically to great distances. Solar wind is considered responsible for the tails of comets, along with the Sun's radiation. The solar wind contributes to fluctuations in celestial radio waves observed on the Earth, through an effect called interplanetary scintillation. As these have direct effect on the solar system, there is a need to study this phenomenon closely. There have been about 40 journals, 198,395 articles on solar wind.
