As per available reports about 59 journals, 20 Conferences, 30 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to Tibetan Medicine and about 366282 articles are being published on the current advancements in Tibetan Medicine. In terms of research annually, USA, India, Japan, Brazil and Canada are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to Tibetan Medicine are being carried out. Traditional Tibetan medicine (TM), sometimes called “Lamaist” or “Buddhist” medicine, is a very ancient medical system based on Buddhist philosophy and psychology. TMhas developed in 1200 years into a unique medical system. It is one of the world's oldest known medical traditions. In TM, disease is understood as an imbalance of the three “Nyes-pa” (principles) consisting of one or two elements: “rLung” (air, wind), “mKhris-pa” (fire), and “Bad kann” (earth and water).
