Academia Belgica organization was established in 1939. The Academia Belgica is an academic organization. The goal of the Academy is to promote the cultural, scientific and artistic cooperation between Italy and Belgium. The Academia Belgica, together with the Institute of Romes historic Belgian and the Foundation Princess Marie-José, aims to encourage scientific and cultural relations between Italy and Belgium, is offering hospitality to researchers and Belgian artists who are in Italy for their research, is presenting the Italian public the most important Belgian achievements in the arts and sciences. It is, currently, a single area of research, creation, collaboration and promotion in the center of Rome. The Academy regularly organizes concerts, exhibitions and conferences to present to the Roman public cultural achievements, scientific and artistic Belgian most important. These events usually with the collaboration of musical conservatories, universities and Belgian cultural institutions. The Academy welcomes researchers and Belgian artists who perform their research in Rome. It has a scientific library of about 80,000 volumes and a music room. In addition, each year is assigned the salaries Academiae belgicae to PhD students or young researchers.
