All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhopal is situated at the city of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. It is one of the leading Institutes in Medical Sciences. The Institute was formed in the Year 2012. AIIMS, Bhopal was conventional as an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament with the objects to develop patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India. It is one of the seven AIIMS apex healthcare institutes being established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). With the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country, and attaining self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education and training the PMSSY planned to set up 6 new AIIMS like institutions in under served areas of the country. These institutions are being established by an Act of Parliament on the lines of the original All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi which imparts both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all its branches and related fields, along with nursing and paramedical training to bring together in one place educational facilities of the highest order for the training of personnel in all branches of health care activity. The institute offers MBBS, B.Sc Nursing (post Certificate) and B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing course. The institute also offers M.D/M.S/M.D.S, M.Ch. (5 year course) and M.Sc. / M. Biotechnology course. Apart from this institute offers Paramedical Courses (PM) as B.Sc. (Hons.) Opthalmic Techniques and B.Sc. (Hons.) Medical Technology course. The Campus has an excellent infrastructure which includes airy, Global Studies classrooms; a Global Studies stocked Library, Hi-tech Computer lab, Faculty Room and a Global Studies defined parking lot for students, faculty and visitors. As of 2016, a total of 450 medical students are pursuing their MBBS courses (undergraduate). 240 nursing students are pursuing nursing degrees. PG programs in the institute started from January, 2017. The first batch of AIIMS Bhopal (MBBS 2012) passed out and started their yearlong internship in the first week of January 2017.
