American University of London

The American University of London (AUOL) was established in 1984 as the American College of Science & Technology and was incorporated as an independent distance learning institution in 1999 in St. Kitts and Nevis. The American University of London (AUOL) is a for-profit unaccredited educational institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees solely by distance learning. AUOL offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses across six schools. Each course is structured into a number of different modules and, depending on the programme of study required, these will vary from course to course. There are usually a number of core modules you have to study and then there are several that you can choose from depending on your interests. n order to facilitate the research and supervision of candidates for higher degrees, AUOL has contracted and accredited, on an adjunct basis, a number of professors, lecturers and specialists in various fields located in many countries all over the world which makes easier communication between student and supervisor. The distance learning technologies introduced by AUOL are • Voice-centered technology, such as CD recordings or Webcasts • Video technology, such as instructional videos, DVDs, and interactive videoconferencing. • Computer-cantered technology delivered over the Internet or the university’s corporate intranet.
