Archives et Musee de la Litterature was founded in 1958 by promotion of Joseph Hanse, an Royal Academy of French Language and Literature of Belgium member. It is an non-profit making association which is under Ministry of French Community of Belgium. It is known for its archives which has approval from French Community of Belgium, it is devoted to French speaking Belgium theatre and Literature members. This institution provides access to all of the Belgium authors and artists information and archives. Archives et Musee de la Litterature has archives of all forms like theatre, poetry, essays, narratives stories etc as photographs, papers, microfilms, sound recording. Archives et Musee de la Litterature is an world renowed centre for literary documentation for central African countries like Burundi, Congo, Rwanda. In its library it has very important journals based on writing theme. Archives et Musee de la Litterature conducts research on literature, editorial heritage of French speaking Belgium, theatrical research, it conducts seminars and symposia for the same. Participating in international meetings and organizations. Communication of work is done using literary and audio-visual modes and producing exhibition. In Brussels AML library has collections of archival and holdings, which are widely disseminated by museum institution, in its premises it organizes temporary exhibitions of art and literature.
