Sri Avinashilingam Home Science College for Women was set up by the considerable loyalist and educationist Dr. T.S. Avinashilingam under the financing of the Avinashilingam Education Trust in 1957 with 45 understudies. These Colleges have been renamed as Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women and is walking towards the twenty eighth year as a University. Dr. T.S.K. Meenakshisundaram has expected the Chancellorship on 2.12.2010. He is a devotee of the Founder-President Dr. T.S. Avinashilingam Ayya Avargal.
