BML Munjal University (BMU) is founded by The Hero Group, which is a non-profit state private university and has been constructed in the 50-acre land, fully residential and co-educational university has been notified under the Haryana State Private Universities Act, 2006. The university is being launched in two phases. The School of Engineering & Technology, School of Management and School of Commerce will be established in phase I and in phase II, four additional schools are proposed: School of Liberal Arts, School of Art, Architecture & Design, School of Natural Sciences and School of Law.BMU is mentored by Imperial College London. The campus is located at the 67th KM stone on NH-8, District Gurgaon, Haryana, about 50 km from New Delhi International Airport. BMUâs unique learning environment will nurture the spirit of enquiry, creativity, problem solving, entrepreneurship and innovation; and promote hands-on and cross-disciplinary learning; and inculcate a raft of values, job and life skills. This will ensure that BMU students are transformed into well-rounded, industry-ready individuals, who are equipped to take on leadership responsibilities from day one of graduating from the university, and ensure a smooth transition to the workplace. BMU offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate programmes like BTech, BCom (Hons), BBA, MBA, MBA, Ph.D, BBA, BTech, BCom (Hons) of Respective subjects in its constituents like School of Management, School of Engineering & Technology, School of Economics and Commerce. The Centre carries its research and consultancy on the topic of Operational Excellence in service and manufacturing, as part of the co-operation between the Imperial College Business School and BMU. The personnel of BMU also aim to work actively with Indian industry to help them achieve operational excellence on par or exceeding world-leading organizations. The current research focusses on the topics like Service, Process and Network Design, Bureaucracy and technology, Supply Chain Management, smart transportation and infrastructure, Energy, pollution reduction, environment, climate change, Healthcare operations and delivery. Eminent persons like Prof. Kalyan Talluri was awarded the INFORMS Impact Prize in September 2016. The prize is awarded biannually for contributions which have had had widespread impact in the practice of operations research. Prof. Kalyan Talluri and six other individuals received the 2016 INFORMS Impact Prize for their combined work in the field of Revenue Management.
