The bishop grosseteste university was founded in 1862,which is named after Robert Robert Grosseteste who was thought to have been born around 1170. Robert Grosseteste was a scientist, scholar, teacher, philosopher and theologian. The university is known for its teaching courses, as it life started as a teacher training school as a Anglican teacher training college for women. But now the university offers various degree including Tourism, Early childhood studies and English Literature. Over 150 years the university is in the heart of Lincoln, a pleasant campus and beautiful green and just a minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle and the old Roman city. The university is originally formed as teacher training for the Diocese of Lincoln. The university gained power in degree awarding in 2012 and was granted full university status on 3 December 2012. At that time the full time students was around 2300, who enrolled under different courses and programmes. At present the university educate over 2000 students in subjects of psychology to drama; degree to Ph.D and many more.
