Buskerud University College was a university college established 1 August 1994 and situated in the county of Buskerud, Norway .It merged with Vestfold University College on 1 January 2014 to form Buskerud and Vestfold University College. Professor Gunnar Horgen was appointed new rector from 1.10.2013. The Universitys campuses are located in three different cities around Oslo: Kongsberg (technology and engineering), Drammen (political science, health science, teacher education, and design) and Honefoss (business administration and management). Buskerud University College is a public institution, accredited The Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education. 20 Bachelor programmes, 12 specialization areas within programmes at Masters level are provided. Buskerud University College has chosen five main areas of research which involves an ambitious and focused effort to develop and strengthen the college as a leading national institution in these areas Buskerud University College is engaged in extensive research and development activities in the areas of health sciences, technology, finance, business administration and management, political science, teacher education, optometry and vision science, lighting design and visual communication. Buskerud University College offers different degree programmes in teacher education and independent courses in educational studies and subjects and subject areas related to these.
