Eating disorders are complex illnesses caused by a combination of factors such as an individual’s characterological components, physiological issues, difficult family and interpersonal relationships, and societal pressures. CEDC’s mission is to provide our patients with a comprehensive and quality continuum of care in a community setting. Because eating disorders often serve as a coping mechanism, we focus on reducing behaviors and understanding their development and function. We aim to promote the development of a healthy self that encompasses both emotional and physical well-being. The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center is a proud supporter of the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa & Associated Disorders (ANAD), International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, Multi-Service Eating Disorder Association (MEDA), Eating Disorder Coalition, Residential Eating Disorder Consortium.
