Campus Sint-Lukas Brussel LUCA School of Arts LUCA School of Arts was Founded in 1880, which is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Brussels (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited/recognized by the Vlaams Ministerie van Onderwijs en Vorming, Belgie (Flemish Ministry of Education and Training, Belgium), LUCA School of Arts offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. It is the only university college in Flanders exclusively dedicated to art and design, making it unique in the region. The art school combines the strengths and expertise of five renowned Flemish higher education institutions for art and design, spread across Brussels, Genk, Ghent and Leuven. LUCA is a member of the KU Leuven Association. It has campuses in two cities, Brussels and Ghent, with a student capital of 1860 and 247 staff members. In both cities, the Faculty of Architecture share facilities with LUCA School of Arts. Each campus offers different contexts for study. The Brussels campus is smaller and the urbane atmosphere in the capital of Europe offers the experience of studying in a vibrant multicultural city with a rich programme of events. The Ghent campus places students in a larger school in a smaller city. This diverse multi campus context makes the school more interesting and dynamic. Research in the arts is organised through LUCAs Faculty of the Arts, this research is closely linked to the academic degree programmes of LUCA. Practice based research projects are managed through LUCA Pro, these projects are linked to the professional degree programmes of LUCA. Research projects in the field of architecture are incorporated within the Faculty of Architecture. This 137 years old H.E. institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment. LUCA School of Arts also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. For all its exceptional features the LUCA School of Arts is placed in 24th position in country wide and in 4469th place worldwide.
