Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute (CRUK CI) was opened in February 2007 in Cambridge Biomedical Campus premises located in Cambridge, England. Many of the constituent intuitions of Cambridge Biomedical Campus such as Addenbrookes Hospital and the University of Cambridge teaching hospital work in close collaboration with CRUK CI. CRUK CI has membership in Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI). It is also an active member of Cambridge Cancer Centre which aims to bring together Biology, Medicine, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry researchers, clinical experts and pharma industries of Cambridge area who conduct research that help to prevent or cure cancer. The centre has 300 above scientists working in 22 research teams. The aim of CRUK CI is to answer questions concerning cancer diagnosis, treatment and prevention using the scientific strength of the Cambridge University. Cancer Research UK and the Cambridge University primarily provide funding to support research activities at CRUK CI. CRUK CI’s PhD and postdoc programmes are very competitive which attract aspirants from the nation and the world. The research at CRUK CI is carried mainly in four following areas: 1. Studies to gain new insights in cellular and molecular biology of cancer 2. Development or application of molecular imaging, genomics, bioinformatics and bimolecular modeling to cancer research 3. Research to study specific cancer sites to build a link between laboratory and clinic 4. Conducting clinical trials to investigate the efficacy of test medicine
