Cheongju National University of Education is one of a few national colleges of training in South Korea. It gives preparing to educators, especially the individuals who plan to instruct out in the open primary schools. The grounds is situated in Cheongju City, the capital of North Chungcheong area. The school was established in 1941 as Cheongju Public Normal School (ì²ì£¼ì¬ë²íêµ). It was joined into the national instruction arrangement of the new Republic of Korea in 1950. In 1962, the educational modules was extended from one year to two years long, and the school was renamed Cheongju National Teachers' Junior College. It was revamped as a four-year school in 1984, and again as a college of training in 1993. The doctoral level college opened in 1996.
