Dali University is a provincial undergraduate institutions of higher learning, organized by the Yunnan Provincial Peoples Government, the implementation of provincial and state to build, to the provincial management. School predecessor was established in 1978, Dali Medical College (undergraduate institutions) and Dali Teachers College, in 2001 merged into Dali University, 2015 Nian 4 months, the Ministry of Education approved renamed Dali University.
Dali University consists of two campuses, Xiaguagn Campus and Old Town Campus, all together with a population of 18,000 students, out of them, 1,6000 are undergraduates, more than 400 are postgraduates, 900 international students for degree, and 20 postgraduates international students. Further more, there are more than 12,000 students for continuing education. Dali University has two hospitals and 3 teaching hospitals.
The first to carry out the "International Day" activities, the Ministry of Education was selected as the national excellent campus cultural activities. Schools take root border ethnic minority areas, for the social training of various types of high-quality personnel transport more than 100,000 . 2010 by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions awarded the title of the national model workers, is the civilized units in Yunnan Province. Since 2006 , for eight consecutive years of college graduates in Yunnan Province, the first prize of employment, in 2009 was named 50 graduates of the typical experience of college graduates.
So far China has more than 118 institutions of higher education were designated as 211 Project institutions, and from 1996 to 2000, approximately US$2.2 billion were distributed in this project. Among those universities, 6 percent for them having met certain scientific, technical, and human resources standards and offer advanced degree programs.
