Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (D.S.V.V.), a non-conventional center for higher learning, education and research, was established in 2002 in Haridwar, Uttarakhand at the foothills of the Himalayas in the vicinity of the holy Ganges. Surrounded by lush Himalayan vegetation, the campus is spread over 76 acres of land and is equipped with an excellent infrastructure and dedicated faculty, staff and knowledge-seeking students. The university is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission, India, certified by ISO 9001:2008, accredited by NAAC and is privately financed by Shri Vedmata Gayatri Trust, Shantikunj, a renowned socio-spiritual organization. The seeds of the university were sown when Kulmata, Bhagwati Devi Sharma (1926-1994) recognized the divine samskaras (spiritual vibrations) of this place. Her Holiness Vandaniya Mata ji felt the divine spiritual energy of this awakened land during Shraddhanjali Samaroh organized in 1990. Later on, this land was purchased. After the Bhoomi Poojan on 23rd May 1999, the construction work started and Dev Sanskriti Mahavidylaya came into existence. The college gained the status of ‘Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya’ on the basis of an act (22.01.2002) passed by state legislature and notified in the gazette vide notification no. (123/vidhayi & sansadiya karya/2002 dated 11-4-2002). This University is a laboratory commited to focus upon the sublime order of development of Students. It has been designed and nurtured as the tapasthali imarting true knowledge for the manifestation of divine Potentialities of Personality. Here students always have to pass through many new dauntless tests to derive benefit by the fervent spiritual power and vibrations. The entrance examination of the university is the very first link of the fervent incessant test. Only those who possess unyielding nature, indomitable coursge, dedication and are ready to sacrify their all to their ideals can prove their worth to study at the university. Research and Publication Cell of Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya was inaugurated by the Hon. Chancellor, Dr. Pranav Pandya in the month of June 2010. The aim of this cell is to fulfill the need of Research, Publications of the researches done and as reference wing for Research Scholars and PG students of the university. The university encourages interdisciplinary research in the field of Psychology, yogic sciences, Indian culture, Spiritual tourism & Mass communication. Research scholars are also registered in the faculty of Oriental Studies which related to various aspects of Vedic Sciences and its solutions to the present day problems. In all students have already obtained their Ph.D degree and 119 student are working as Research Scholars. The university grants fellowship to research students from its own resources. About 90% research students have been provided with free lodging, boarding, medical facilities & allowances. In all 71 students are working as Research Scholars.
