It gives immense pleasure to welcome all students, faculty, administrators, and staff back to yet another enticing academic year here at Effat University. The new academic year 2016-2017 marks the seventeenth year of existence and we will be celebrating the launching of the fourth five-year strategic plan 2017-2022! Effat family looks forward to transform this university into a research university with extra emphasis on teaching and community services and taking advantage of the 2030 Saudi vision of the Custodian of the holy mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud and its transformation plan of 2020. Effat University started as a college in 1999 and the successive efforts and developments of all members of Effat family made it a university in 2009 with four colleges, 13 undergraduate programs, and three graduate programs with general education program built on the philosophy of liberal arts education. All these programs in addition to the ambassador program with its wide-varieties of courses will enable you to create for yourself an education that is right for you.

The University provides leading-edge technology that is highly scalable, highly secured, redundant infrastructure to avoid the downtime, keeps the campus connected, and provides 24/7 accessibility of technology resources to Students, Faculty, and Staff to achieve their teaching, learning and administrative goals.
Research As we stand at the threshold of a new academic year (2016-2017), I am pleased to welcome you to Effat University’s Deanship of Graduate Studies & Research (DGSR). Being the University’s central point for research, graduate programs and executive education opportunities, DGSR is focal to the University’s mission of providing an interdisciplinary environment conducive to research, community service and life-long learning. Through the valuable research and graduate education opportunities the University provides, we aim at creating an intellectually-stimulating environment for learning and discovery. I am especially excited this year to announce the launch of a new graduate degree in Energy Engineering as well as a PhD program in Business Administration, hence diversifying our offered graduate education opportunities and providing our students with challenging and inspiring education. With these new programs, female students can now fulfill their ambitions to specialize in emerging and topical fields such as petroleum engineering and renewable energy. These programs also offer our entire community of both students and researchers new possibilities for research and innovation in these exciting fields.
