The Higher School of Tourism and Hospitality Studies of Estoril is established in 1991, it is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of Estoril with a population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants, Lisboa. It is recognized by the Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior, Portugal (Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education in Portugal), It has a very small institute with enrollment range of 1,000-1,999 students and is coeducational higher education institution. At present, more than one thousand students are enrolled in the degrees, and more than one hundred in the second cycle courses (masters and postgraduate). It offers courses and programs leading it to officialy recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. It is 26 years old H.E. institution which has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and past academic records and grades of the students. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. ESHTE also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students which includes library, sport facilities, indoor or outdoor activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. At the European level, this partners with some 23 bilateral teacher and student exchange agreements in the Socrates / Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci programs. It also has bilateral agreements with universities in Brazil, Macao, Camerino and Disney / ECU.
