Farnborough College of Technology offers a wide range of further and higher education programmes. It has two modern style campuses, a warm and friendly atmosphere, and a wide variety of flexible courses for people of all age groups. The College was established in 1957 and opened its second premises, Aldershot College in 2005, which is home to popular construction craft courses. In November 2011, the College was judged to be Outstanding by Ofsted across all of its work, namely: Effectiveness of provision, Capacity to improve, Outstanding Achievement and standards, Quality of provision, Leadership and management. Students have access to a vast range of facilities to support them at all stages of their studies, including a state-of-the-art Learning Resource Centre, offering books, journals, audio-visual materials, and electronic information services. The College has built its reputation by carefully considering the needs of students and industry, and by energetically pursuing a policy of achievement.
It is accredited by the University of Surrey. The courses offered in the college are Accounting, Business, Computing and IT, Criminology, Education, Engineering, English Literature, Graphic Design, Health and Social Care, Hospitality Management, HR, Media, Photography, Psychology, Salon and Spa Management. There is an opportunity to move your career forward, gain professional skills by opting for Higher Apprenticeships program. Also there is an option of Joint honours and Early Years of Education if someone is into teaching. It has two campuses. Farnborough Campus is based in Boundary Road, and is landscaped both indoors and outdoors with a variety of exotic plants and trees. Aldershot College campus has purpose-built facilities which offer a high-quality facility, with modern purpose built workshops for students to learn and practise in. Farnborough Campus is home to around 9,000 full-time and part-time students.
The College has a dedicated Business Services Team who has worked with over 6,000 employers. Study facilities include quiet research areas, Wi-Fi hotspots, audio visual area and open access computers. Media and Creative Arts students benefit from TV, radio, music, photography and dance studios and a 300 seat capacity theatre, whilst Sports and Exercise students have unlimited access to our state-of-the-art Beyond Fitness Gym.
The College provides industry-standard facilities that prepares for a good career and replicate the work places. It has an Aerospace and Automotive Academy with a machine shop, welding classroom, full size vehicle workshop and more. Gallery Restaurant serves exquisite dishes to visitors at their training restaurant where students become professionals. Hair and Beauty Academy is open to the public providing the same equipment, expertise and professional environment of any high street salon. The gym features laboratory equipment and is available for all students to use. The library hosts an extensive collection of books, journals and electronic resources are available. The photographic studio includes tethered Macs and professional lighting equipment. TV and Radio Studios has advanced editing suites, lighting equipment and FM broadcast facilities provide a hands-on experience. Due to its exceptional teaching and learning facilities the College has gained an excellent reputation.
